MCS 16
MCS-16 is a browser-based programming puzzle game about building working computers from compact processors and specialized hardware.
Write small assembly-like programs, route signed 16-bit values between processor nodes, and physically rearrange components to construct a machine capable of completing each mission.
Processors are not permanently attached to the board. Move them between interchangeable sockets, preserve their programs, and connect them to external channels, neighboring processors, and advanced hardware modules.
## CURRENT ALPHA
The current alpha contains 24 playable missions.
The campaign begins with basic signal routing and gradually introduces:
- Arithmetic and persistent state
- Conditional branches and stream filtering
- Parallel processor networks
- Multiple input and output channels
- Synchronization and blocking communication
- FIFO-24 sequential buffers
- LED-64 addressable displays
- STK-16 stack memory
- RAM-24 random-access memory
- TAPE-128 sequential tape memory
- ROM-32 lookup tables and indirect addressing
Three processor tiers progressively unlock accumulators, arithmetic, conditional jumps, bitwise operations, and backup storage.
FUTURE
Bit operations
Advanced Screen Components
Larger Levels
Implementing a mock version of the Sharp LR35902 Gameboy Processor.
Mock Game Programming
9/1/26 ~ edited theme, docs, tutorial levels, ui events, options menu, connections between hardware components...house keeping.
9/9/26 - Implemented a new screen module which will be the gateway for even bigger screens. Started mocking up pet and unlock system.
9/11/26 - Programming buddy system implemented
